I offer a safe and confidential environment in which we can explore and process your experience.
My work is guided by trauma-focused and somatic therapy theories. This looks like a focus on calming the body down to work slowly through trauma, gaining an understanding into how our past shapes our present moment feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, naming and taking action on how society impacts our identities and mental health, using creativity to learn about ourselves and to self-sooth, and fostering intentional kindness to ourselves.
individual therapy
I invite curiosity about the present moment, your physical sensations and assumptions about self and others. Body-based sensations, relaxation techniques and self-compassion support your comfort, safety and connection so that your body, mind and nervous system can release and inform you. People are able to make sense of the past and engage more fully in life and with each other.

EMDR
This treatment modality uses bi-lateral stimulation to activate your brain's natural self-healing mechanisms to change how traumatic memories are stored and experienced in the present. EMDR sessions are more structured than talk-therapy sessions. In sessions we will work backwards through your life's memories and I will slowly guide you through to new insights and healing.

Adults & teens
Each life phase has its own unique challenges. I work with individuals as young as 13 to help support healthy attachment, improve relationships, build self-esteem, and increase resiliency. I believe that it is never to early to lay the groundwork for caring for one's mental health. In my work with adults, we do very much the same things. I always adjust treatment to each individual's developmental level and needs.
